Vampires at war

Prologue

Crash – the sound of two big white double doors hastily being pushed open. They were the kind that opened both ways and automatically close afterwards. A woman in her early twenties, with dark wavy blonde hair, was sat in a wheelchair frantically taking controlled breaths. Her new husband around the same age but taller with short dark hair was pushing her fast towards a huge desk. Which was the reception of the local hospital. “Please my wife, she’s gone into labour, I rang a few minutes ago,” the man panted to the first nurse he saw. She was wearing a deep midnight blue uniform; she looked down at the pregnant woman and nodded.

“OK that way, this is Alice Cooper the midwife,” she said whilst pointed down the left corridor, and taking hold of a short plump woman, with short red hair.

“Thanks” As if guessing the next question he continued, “I’m Edward Rose, call me Eddie, and my wife’s name is Samantha – Sam.” Sam made a painful noise.

“OK Eddie, I’ll make sure your details are checked in, go straight away.” Without further delay, Eddie sped down the corridor, Alice following. People were walking and talking all over the place, it certainly was busy tonight. Shortly the couple were taken into a maternity room on the maternity ward, on the third floor. The room was decorated in a burst of colours everyone under the rainbow.

From that moment Alice kept a constant check on Sam, Eddie anxiously by her side next to the bed she was laid in. Eddie had asked Alice time and time again if everything was OK because the baby wasn’t due for another three weeks. However Alice had reassured them both that everything was fine the baby had just made up its mind to come tonight.

After five hours of painful labour, Edward and Samantha’s baby daughter was born. Both of them were crying tears of joy. Because for them it had been painful trying to conceive a baby, they had both feared that they wouldn’t be able to have children. When Sam received the breathtaking news of her being pregnant. Neither of them could believe their luck, they couldn’t believe that they were now holding their precious daughter, and that she was perfectly healthy.

It was a miracle - they were parents.

Unknown to either of them, their baby daughter was being watched by two strangers. One was looking into that very hospital room, from outside the window. The silent figure, couldn’t take his blue eyes off the baby, who in return saw him with her deep brown eyes. He smiled, in response for the smile that the baby gave in her eyes. Knowing that she would grow up to be beautiful, then prising his eyes off her, no matter how hard it was, he turned away and left her to grow.

At the same time, another masculine figure was watching urgently. He was in a dark chamber and accompanying him was a very old and powerful man. Through his power it was possible for the boy to see the baby, his green eyes brightening in realization, this child would change everything.
