There once was a girl
Who fell in love with a boy
(Typical middle scholars)
But the boy was in love with the girl’s
Best Friend
(Jealousy pursued)
A year passed by
The girl’s love only grew stronger
(He became her best friend)
So the girl wrote her love as a confession
Titled it, “Life Fragments”
(A simple poem she wanted him to read)
The boy wanted to know who is was about
The girl played it off like it wasn’t of the boy
(She was too nervous to tell him)
At the flip of a coin
The girl decided to tell the boy
(She felt relieved but scared)
Soon after, the boy told the girl
That the boy liked the girl too
(She was overwhelmed with fear)
School started again
The boy and the girl stayed together, just close friends
(She wanted to be with him)
A little more than a month later
The boy and the girl were dating
(Their first kiss was on his birthday)
Before, maybe just after, four months pass
The girl broke up with the boy
(Her fear had taken over her actions)
But the boy refused to let the girl go
(A sign of true love)
The girl stayed with the boy
The girl’s mind screaming with fear
(That’s where the hell started)
The girl’s fear completely dominated
The boy’s heart was broken many times thereafter
(She felt that she couldn’t stay with him)
Finally, the boy refused the girl
The girl only began realizing her faults
(Summer came and he said one more time)
But the girl didn’t learn
The boy left her for good
(They didn’t talk for three months)
The time apart made the girl realize:
The boy had chosen her
(She had to get him back)
School began again with the boy angry
November this year, the girl threw caution into the wind
(She asked him back for one last try)
The boy: yet to reply
The girl: prays the boy has seen the change
