My heart is cheapeasy to be bought
over you, I trip
attention is what I sought
you're a just cause
and catalyst
without pause
my hopes I can list
but what of fears?
yes, they too live
no bringer of tears
just mischief
to mind and to heart
to soul right this night
as memories become shards
your face come no more to sight
I can't remember you
try, try, trying so hard
splits into two
your image, sweetheart
if this stays
more will pass
and all will lay
gathering dust
in silence
and alone
love's innocence
becomes bones
that's if things are let be
remember that my heart is cheap
with your eyes, buy me
over that gaze, I will trip.
Author's Note: Doesn't sound much like any of my recent poems, now does it? That's because this poem old; so old that I forget whether I've actually uploaded it before.
