Dazed and confused,

I’ve been abused,

Today and tomorrow will all be the same.

Love—overused,

Describe just us two?

Promise you’ll never misplace my own name.

I’ve been at home,

Thinking alone,

About how a wanderer could—should—get by.

The world is so dull,

Sharp words freezing cold,

Cutting till your smiles just fade off and die.

She walks away

As he’s locked away,

The pain they both felt was hidden a while.

I cried a day,

With no thought to thank

The distance you walked—one hundred whole miles—

To get back to her.
