This was written under the influence of a broken heart, Pop Rocks, and a LOT of cheap, store-brand soda. R&R!
-------------

My mind is blank as sand upon a midnight, moonlight beach

The things I wish to think of are so far beyond my reach

I wander in the waves before I lose my way complete

The water comes and washes over; knocks me off my feet

The thoughts of you are swirling and they're prompting me to weep

I find escape impossible; I dream you when I sleep

I taste the salt and bitterness; the ocean is my tears

I'm a castaway and captive on the island of my fears

Will you forever turn away from my undying love?

You force me to live just in dreams until I've gone Above

If we could only share one kiss I'd die a happy soul

But now our spark has faded like a black and dying coal

The love we do not share

Is love beyond compare
