For so long I went along in life

Not caring about anyone

Or anything

I believed what my parents told me

Didn’t try to have my own beliefs

But the day came when I saw the truth

And I wanted to speak out against the hate

Against the discrimination in the world

I wanted to shout out the message of love

But fear held me back

Now, though, there’s a voice inside of me

And it’s stronger than fear

It’s saying:

You’ve only got one chance to live

You’ve only got one chance to give

So stand up and fight

Shout it out

Don’t be afraid

Don’t be afraid to give

Don’t be afraid to fight for what’s right

Don’t be afraid to love

Don’t be afraid

I did what that voice told me to do

Now I’m rejected by those who once loved me

They say I’m wrong with all this ‘love everyone’ business

They say God doesn’t really think

Like I think He does

So at times it doesn’t seem worth it

At times I don’t think I can go on anymore

At times I don’t think I can speak out anymore

But then that voice whispers in my heart

And it says:

You’ve only got one chance to live

You’ve only got one chance to give

So stand up and fight

Shout it out
