Become

what will become of her?

she hands in each worksheet

with a smiley face in the same corner

even though she doesn’t get all A’s

the teachers are proud of her

everyone knows her as

a happy, bubbly person

a person anyone would like to know

but no one does

what will become of her?

what will become of him?

he demands your attention

as soon as he walks into the room

he would get better grades if he tried

the teachers are sick of him

everyone knows him as

the immature class clown

a person everyone wants to be friends with

but no one wants to know

what will become of him?

what will become of you?

you walk the school hallways

three people ahead of me

I can stick a million labels on you

but won’t come up with one secret

though it seems we are close (remember when

we shared a laugh in English?) we’re so far

I’ve known you forever

but I’ll never know you

what will become of you?

what will become of me?

I walk the school hallways

And stare at walls, not faces

I’ve shared anecdotes with you, and good jokes

but never stopped long enough for a serious talk

though it seems we are close (remember when

we shared a laugh in English?) we’re so far

we will know each other at least thirteen years

but we’ll never get past acquaintance

what will become of me?

(sorry about the page breaks. I really needed to seperate the stanzas, and nothing else worked)
