“Uhh…crap…huh? Where the hell am I?” said Fred awakening from his slumber. “You are in my temple. The temple of light.” Said a winged human. “You are currently in the fairy light temple. Feels good to talk again.” Then a stunning realization came to him “Alexandra?” “Yes?” the fairies temple guardians name was Alexandra. The queen’s name was Alexandra. The high priestess of the fairy temple was named Alexandra too. Alex is a very popular fairy name.
“How did I get here?” asked Fred inquisitively. “It’s a long story. Full of magic and mischief, but jolly the prince has a magic cape that captures people. And it sends them where he wants them to be. He figured we would have killed you. But, you know, I feel bad for abandoning you. You can stay as long as you like.” “Paul died. Where’s Jack?” “We believe he died too. It’s a shame so many have died on this mission. Truly a shame. But it was not a total loss. Come here and I’ll show you what I mean.”
Alexandra walked up through the rather small hallway decorated with small trinkets of unusual origin. They were of wooden, but looked more of a metal texture than a wood. Smooth-ish I’d say. Several looked like weapons studded with jewels. They had an axe like figure to them; half had 3 inch spikes, the other a sharp blade. They were cool looking.
They walked up to what looked to be an alter. Red velvet stairs up to the alter, oak wood railings. Stone carved fire torches beside the stairs. As Fred and Alex walked up the stairs the crystal came into sight. Amazingly, it was about three hundred feet high, fifty feet wide. Sparkling in the sunlight, four branches of yellow energy steamed and circled the crystal. The crystal here was so clear, unlike the ones in the cave.
“Everything comes with a price. Seeing this almost makes the value equal to its price. Fred I need to tell you something important. We are current-” Alexandra was cut off by aloud whistling noise. “Under attack. This new wealth has made us a target. Please hand me one of those weapons.” Fred walked towards the weapons. The door swung open. “NOW!” uttered Alex. Vicious looking fairies looked in. green skin, red wings, and barbed skin was a trait you usually didn’t see in fairies, so Fred assumed that these things were the dreaded sprites. The sprites were slaves to the fairy for a number of years until they all went berserk and lost their minds. “ARGH!” yelled one of the entering sprites. I guess these were pirate sprites…
Fred through the axe thing to Alexandra, over throwing a little, and sinking the axe into a sprites skull. Sprites do not have red blood. It’s cadet blue and it’s shiny. It has the texture of dandruff shampoo. Forty sprites had entered the room by then. By this time Fred was chucking axes all over the room, one killing a sprite, decapitation everywhere, nowhere near close to Alexandra because as soon they hit the sprite, the sprites flew back out of the room.
A slow rumbling moved the floor. “FRED! AXE NOW!” Fred hesitates, stunned by shaking. A huge sprite burst through the door. “ARRRRGH!” roared the huge sprite. Fred turned to Alexandra, then to the sprite. He thought to himself “if I could only force this into his skull.” He aimed and fired.
The arc was perfect. Correct trajectory. Too bad the sprite had good reflexes. The large sprite grabbed the axe out of the air and returned the favor… at Alex. Alex quickly raised one hand and stopped the axe in mid air. Then all of the axes started twitching and raising into the air. 20 axes started spinning sideways and then they all lined up. Alex spoke up. “Catch this, dumbass.” In long arcs, they all sped forward with blinding speed. I don’t want to get into what happened to the body. Lets just say the red staircase is now cadet blue.
Alex looked at the crystal. The crystal opaque(s) a bit, flashed, and yellow strands of energy flushed into the crystal. Alex’s face paled “Crap. We kind of have to run now.” The red energy flew out of the crystal, striking the bodies of sprites. The bodies glow with red luminescence from their feet to hair. The red slowly fell away from the corpses, intensifying in the eyes and face. The scars of battle past fell off their bodies and onto the floor, creating large gashes and crevices in the floor. The large sprites body, once cut to unrecognizable mass of bones and flesh erupted into massive lava pit and guess what was dead center. Yes, it was ARRG boy. In a large booming voice called “you will all perish before our might. From the spawn of fairies, goblins, dwarfs, and races long past, we have power of that is just of are suffering.” They didn’t know where to find the man who said that. Shades of green, pulsing, covered their eyes. Flashing of mountains, oceans, deserts, oasis, pierced their minds like a thousand unsheathed daggers. One imagine stayed in they’re minds as they faded out. A flaming green sea serpent and a phoenix circling each other.
Well…not what I expected…well…it is lighter I guess…
