Pictures say a thousand words,

But pictures can lie too.

Waltzing,

Dancing,

Laughing,

Smiling,

Only for you.

The picture frozen in time

Hurts my heart

With the familiar aching of longing,

As a girl,

And a boy,

Sit on a hillside,

Laughing,

Wishing on dandelions,

Blowing in the wind,

Flying away.

I used to wish too,

My fingers whisper silently

Over the canvas.

I used to laugh too,

The scars on my wrist

Sing a sad farewell.

I used to fly away,

But then I found out

There was a chain,

Holding me back

From everything in my dreams.

Waltzing,

Dancing,

Laughing,

Smiling,

Only for you.

My eyes say o sadly,

To the picture on the wall,

Pictures can say a thousand words,

But pictures can lie too.

Will the angst never end? Or will I turn out to be a depressed spinster who can't sort out her feelings?
