Boy

I know a boy who'd love to be

here, alone, alone with me

I know a boy who grows more free

with every passing day, and we

do slide together as summer turns fall

As a toddler with a china doll

walks so unsteadily down the hall

feet two inches above the ground

sailing smoothly, there's no sound

careful not to breathe too loud

for fear of disturbing her smiling shroud

I know a boy who blows my mind

as sure as summer with spring behind

I know a boy whose heart is bright

Shines 'cross town through darkest night

I know a boy who loves me best

no matter whatever way I'm dressed

he slips his hand so tender round mine

he moves, so light, so smooth, so fine

I know this boy

I know this boy

and suddenly

there's ceased to be

any reason to retreat

all is comfort, all is right

all is sparks and heated nights

hold me as you do each day

upon my senses won't you play

hand round hip, breath hot on neck

I'll keep yours also from neglect

I know a boy

I know this boy

I love this boy.
