Signs Of An Ex-Cutter

You take this knife and cut yourself

Releasing the pain you feel within

Blood flows across your palms

As tears stream across your cheeks

Clenched fists and scarred wrists

These are the signs of an Ex-Cutter

The pain comes back and you do it again

Locked in a spiral dragging you down

Nobody understands why you do it

Nobody understands the pain you feel

You want to tell someone what you're doing

You want someone to help

You try and all you get is rejection

They criticize you for what you've done

They think your an idiot

Because you gave in

When they were strong

But the rejection you feel

Tears you open more then a knife ever could

The pain is worse

Then the cut from a knife could ever be

And again you want to be free of what you're feeling

So you take the knife up and you return

To the familiar bite of a blade
