I said I loved you, but not romantically... and, I'm sorry, but I lied.

There's only one type of love?
At least that's what you claim.
And when push comes to shove,
I suppose I believe the same.

Even tho' I said you were wrong,
That there's platonic love and romance,
Now I've changed my song.
In fact, I've changed the total dance.

I said I loved you, but I didn't love you,
Only friends, just comrades.
But, I'm afraid I always knew
The reason you make me glad.

The reason's not fleeting passion,
Nor the infatuation of a kid.
It goes way beyond fixation,
Which is why I hid it like I did.

But, no longer is my song of a friend,
Or my dance of hiding truth.
The pretence has to end,
You see, I fell in love with you.
