Fire

Fire

Slivers down

Smoldering all that is in its path

Blinding

The world darkens

It took over

Like waves

The fury crashes

Like waves

One, and another, then another

Leaving one to gasp for air

It torches

Tongues burning

Blackness welcomes

Hovering between this and that

Between letting go and indulging in

It touches

Fingers fleeting

Destructive yet entirely… smooth

Creating deep pools

Of depth that can never be filled

The flames intensify

Trembling hot

Licking the edge of which sanity tiptoes

It beckons…

… and sense falls into the red abyss

Lightning flashes

The wind moans

Haunting

But beautiful

The ripples spread

Each morepowerful than the last

And then

Rain

Warmly soothing

Droplets tracing the wet pavement

It dies slowly

In a sighing mist

The world illuminates

It dies, but the sparkle remains

It is quenched, for now

But there it is still

Waiting to be rekindled

In the bottomless pools of thirst

For silently beneath the surface that glosses

There lies this fire of desire.
