Chapter 10

Christmas Eve…

It was finally Christmas Eve. The air was cold and it was snowing outside. It wasn’t a blizzard or anything. But it was slow falling, romantic snow. I loved it. It was perfect.

It was about 5 o’ clock, and the guests were supposed to arrive for Christmas dinner very soon. I needed to get dressed.

I took a shower, and even curled my hair. So it wasn’t completely straight, it had body to it. I got into my brown skirt, and light brown shirt and white sweater shrug and pump shoes. I even wore the necklace that Dean gave me. I put on some make- up and perfume, then made my way down the stairs.

The boys (and my dad) were in the living room watching the Christmas movies and cartoons that were on TV.

When I walked into the room, it was like everything went quiet. Dean got to his feet and walked up to me.

He was wearing a red button up shirt and khaki pants with dark brown shoes. His hair was styled as is usually was. I noticed that he wore the watch that I gave him in the Secret Santa gift game. I gave him a smile, while he stood in front of me and stared at me.

“You look great,” he said while still looking right into my eyes.

“So do you”

The doorbell rang and my mom ran to go answer it. It was my cousins and my other relatives that I spent every Christmas with.

“Merry Christmas everybody!” my grandma said loudly as she walked through the door. I always rolled my eyes and grunted when my family arrived on Christmas Eve, just because they annoyed me. But now it was different. I had a huge smile on my face and gave everyone a hug and wished him or her a merry Christmas.

Once everyone said his or her hellos, we all sat down to eat an amazing dinner.

“I think I’m going to blow up” David said when he finished his third helping of Christmas dinner, which consisted of ham, potatoes, salad, biscuits and a whole lot more.

When we finished dinner and later on, desert, I changed into sweat pants a green long sleeve shirt, and then put on my brown bomber jacket and white hat. I grabbed my ice skates and went down stairs. Dean was ready and waiting for me n the living room with the rest of the family.

“Hey, are you ready?” he asked when he got up from the couch.

“Yeah. Come on let’s go!” I said as I practically dragged him out of the house.

When we got to the ice rink, there were a lot of people there, but still plenty room for us to skate. Dean rented his skates, we put ours on and we went onto the ice.

At first he was a little stiff and freaked about falling, but he got the hang of it once I helped him relax. We were skating for a long time without falling once.

“Your doing great” I told him while we skated together.

“Yeah. I never thought I would skate this long without falling. I guess you’re like my lucky charm.”

We skated faster than before. I wanted to see how well he could skate when going fast. He was stiffer than before.

“Amanda. Um… too fast. Can we slow down? Oh, shit!”

When Dean tried to slow down, I didn’t realize he did that, and we both fell down on the ice.

We both laughed until we were soar from laughing too hard.

“Ugh, what do you say we go home now? I had enough ice for one day.”

I agreed. We had been skating for an hour or two, and I was a bit tired as well. So we headed home.

While we were walking home, the snow, slowly fell on my head and shoulders. The snow crunched beneath my feet, while I walked with Dean.

“I love it when it snows on Christmas. It’s so beautiful.” I said while I watched the snowfall.

“I know. It’s gorgeous.” He said while still looking at me, not at the snow.

When we arrived at the front door, we stood there, silent for a minute. I was getting anxious, when I realized something.

We were standing under the mistletoe.

I looked back at Dean and put my lips on top of Dean’s.

He didn’t resist, he only put more into the kiss. It was so beautiful. With the snow and everything.

We pulled away and smiled at each other.

“I love you,” I whispered to him with my eyes closed.

“He opened his eyes and smiled at me “I love you too, baby.”

I smiled before grabbing his hand and opening the front door.

“Merry Christmas” I said right before I pulled him through the front door. Which by the way, when I closed it, I gave Dean another kiss. He didn’t seem to mind.

THE END!
