You once said that should I cry,
You would be the one to die.
You could never bear to see
Me in pain or misery.
You once said you’d never try
To make me blue or make me cry.
And to me that’s why I care
To give you my heart to share.
And then you broke down into tears;
Said you’d take away my fears.
You said you’d always love me so,
And you would never let me go.
Now I look toward the sky,
And I am now the one to cry.
I know that you will always know,
How I've come to miss you so.
Then I looked down to the ground,
And heard not a single sound.
There before me a gray stone,
The one on which your name is born.
