Feelings known and never spoken

We both knew it was taboo

Words unsaid and rules unbroken

Remembering that night with you

Unromantically stone cold

Lying down to see the stars

As campfires below blazed bold

We both let down our guard

How did our dreams become shared

Within one breath of time

How lucky someone cared

In a world the same as mine

All too soon it had to pass

Remembering who we were

Such things weren’t meant to last

But which life would you prefer?

As the stars blazed by once in this life

Closer to you than I’ll ever be

Away from worries, away from strife

In a world apart from society
