End of A Thought
It started with
obsessions.
Then came the arm in
arms,
The sunsets on the
rocks –
A symphony of waves and
wind
In the background.
It played to a pair of
mingling hearts
We didn’t know the
words,
The Thought ran through
us both.
The night came to an end and
two became one.
There were kisses.
Then came the hand in
hands,
The talks and drives –
A laptop and Fall Out
Boy
for the road.
Time
tied us together.
We found the words,
The Thought ran through
us both.
Just weeks after we started
We called it Love.
There was sex.
Things we’d never
believed,
Never dreamed of doing
–
A shower was shared
And bed sheets
ruffled.
Experiences tightened our knot.
We forgot the
words,
The thought was just
for him.
A month and a day later
He called it to an end.
There were tears.
The
sunset burned,
The laptop sounded dull
No matter how I saw it
Nothing was the same.
Our hearts were torn.
We thought it was time
to end,
but it felt so wrong.
Why was this true
If it came with such
hurt?
There are memories.
Here come the lonely
drives,
your ghost by my side –
No matter how hard I
try
I fail.
You can’t kiss the
hand of a ghost.
Love was an idea,
Nothing but a Thought.
This is the end of our
Thought,
one I’ll never
forget.
