Third Heart

The third beating heart—
Twisting, twirling, all-consuming—
Taking me over and flowing straight through me;
And touching my hand
And flinch—shrink away
And crying,
And lying,
For it every day;

And tripping and falling
This third heart I hear beating—
Drowning out all my screaming;
This heart, all-consuming—
They’re beating together—
Remembering—never—
To see two hearts sever;
And to then fall apart;

Three hearts bound together—
Forever found together;
Floating in a bloody pool—
Bleeding together!

Growing thicker with blood—
A thick crimson flood
Together bleeding;
Hearts together—beating!
Two to never fall apart—
Even though I am screaming!
