The curtains shut,

the windows closed

the lights are off,

no noise to break

the empty peace.

The shadows dance their ballet,

Just for me

The wind sings its opera,

Just for me

The cars play their symphony,

Just for me

I am the one they wish to please.

The words spring free of the

binding pages

Splashing pastel greens, purples,

yellows, blues, golds

Across the boundless canvas

of my inner eye.

The Crown Throne bows

the Emperor Violet kneels

the Round Table tips his hat

All for me,

King of the place

as small as the world

as large as alone.
