Man, the curious creature that he is, has always pondered the very things around him, to wit, the Universe, that artificially defined mesh of the micro, macro, and everything below, between, above, and beyond; it is this, the cosmos, man’s dwelling, which philosophers, clergymen, lunatics, laymen, and the like have sought and seek to comprehend, to prove and establish as fact.

The philosophers have been lulled into submission by science, accepting on blind faith the norm–a dangerous thing when this which surrounds the thinker begs to be proved, ordained, and verified. Indeed, verification of the basics has become so rare that belief in the essence of what man knows becomes unfounded, and doubt abounds where resolve belongs.

What does it take to prove these things? A comprehensive survey and scrutiny of that which is universally accepted and likewise refuted is necessary for proof. Furthermore, this examination must begin at the most basic level to bring out the truths essential for delving deeper.

Paramount is the assertion that man’s concept of the Universe is even valid; the very existence of man must be assured for continuation to the more burning questions: Why are we here? What comes after this? Is there a Supreme Being? Certainly, there is no reason to answer any of these questions if the basics cannot be ascertained; there is no reason for life if such is so; therein lies a paradox which any study of verities must also explore.
