A Love Letter: Valentine's Day Special

A/N: Wohoo. Haven’t we all written love letters at least once in our lives? Heehee. But this love letter of mine is not for any guy, unfortunately. It’s homework. For my Literature in English class. Sigh. Oh, whatever. I’m babbling. And just for the record, this Nathaniel guy is completely made up by me, okay?

WARNING: For all who hates sappiness, GET AWAY FROM THIS PAGE! QUICK!

My darling Nathaniel,

I find that I cannot keep this any longer; I must tell you. The truth is, my sweet Nathaniel, that I love you. I love you from the first second I met you; the first time I saw you. I love you with adorations, fertile tears, with groans that thunder love, with sighs of fire. I love you with my whole being, sweet.

Can one fall in love over and over again; every second, every minute, every hour of her life? I certainly have; every single day, every single time I saw you. You, ma cher ange, are Eros to my Psyche, Orpheus to my Eurydice, Darcy to my Elizabeth, and Rochester to my Jane Eyre.

Never, my love, have I known love until that moment I saw you. Never have I known bliss until I met you. I love you, my darling, more than I love life itself. You are, a rare jewel, found once in a million years.

I love you curly locks of hair, always so unruly and messy; leaping like great flowing waves, tousled and ungoverned, in the colour of sun-lit honey. I love your eyes, so brown, just like peat bogs, melting me and pulling me under, letting me drown in that velvety tenderness. I love your chiselled, slightly aquiline nose, so beautiful and sharp. I love your mouth, and the stern tight way you hold it, which melts away each time you smile or laugh.

You, dearest, are more than a man; you are a god in my eyes. Your laughter is music against my ears; the murmur of your beautiful voice has never failed to entice my poor heart to beat faster. You have my heart, mind and soul; I am clay in your hands. I love you madly.

Beloved, there is always a special spot in my heart for the sight of your smile, the sound of your laughter. Whenever you smile, I smile. Whenever you laugh, I laugh too. When you frown, I frown. When you cry, I cry too. Every single one of my emotions, precious, is linked to you. You are, for the past, present and future, for now and eternity: the keeper of my soul and love, the king of my heart.

Accept me, I beseech you, and make me yours, Nathaniel. Now that I have boldly declared my love for you, please, I beg of you, do not let me perish, as a fallen woman, of a broken heart. My sentiments can be described aptly as thus:

-Make me a willow cabin at your gate,

And call upon my soul within the house,

Write loyal cantons of contemned love,

And sing them loud even in the dead of the night;

Hallow your name to the reverberate hills,

And make the babbling gossip of the air,

Cry out 'Nathaniel!' O, you should not rest

Between the elements of air and earth,

But you should pity me.-

Eternally yours, my love,

Your Madrigal.

A/N:Hahaha... Sappy, much? I got 18/20 for this! I know, I know -shivers and rubs my arms- My goose bumps kept popping up as well when I wrote this. Do review and tell me what you think of it!

Ps. And the verse at the end of my letter is--- in case you didn't know--- spoken by Viola masquerading as "Cesario" to Olivia in Twelfth Night, Act I Scene V by William Shakespeare. And that 'Nathaniel!' should originally be 'Olivia!'. Heh. Just thought that you should know.
