Lamentation of the Humans' Bloody Stupid Behaviour

A/N: I got the inspiration for writing this poem by listening to the Black-eyed Peas "Where is the Love?" for countless times. But don't worry; although the meaning is pretty much the same, it's a new poem, with no copying or whatsoever. It's quite dumb and crappy though, but bear with me and read it; then send me reviews on how to improve it, okay? Thanks!
Verse 1:
What happened to the good old days
When the sign of the index and middle were in fashion
People you have obliterated and forgotten
Of the years gone past of peace no war
Of the times then of no gore

Verse 2:
Save us
Help us
Guide us from cruelty
What on earth happened to the gesture of humanity?
Gone from our minds is the word equality
In the air there is now hostility
How about the hard-fought liberty
Are we reverting to slavery?

Verse 3:
What of the answers of the wannabes
Of Ms World and Universe etc.
Have we wiped that of as well?
Or is it a reluctance to recall
Where is the kindness of days gone by?
Of helping old ladies cross the road
Where is all the good?
Mankind is now corrupted and hard
Possessed by the devils living in our hearts

Verse 4:
Save us
Help us
Guide us from our plight
From the dark in to the light
The world is on a discrimination rampage
In all corners there blooms only hate
Selfishness is all we demonstrate

Verse 5:
Brushed aside are the phrases of the Bible
DON'T (Love siblings of thee, respect thy mother)
Meeting the same fate are the quotes of Shakespeare
Every emotion is hidden under
Friends, are you really so afraid to have the love in your hearts
discovered?

Verse 6:
As I grew older I became weary
The truth and the world are both not pretty
Bombs and grenades exploding over the place
How do we pull ourselves out of the orange blaze?
For over the years the wrongs are piling higher
Threatening to engulf and ingest the people
So for your own sakes do listen and remember

Verse 7:
Please do practise what was preached
Follow what our teachers always teach
Save our souls from ourselves quick
Search
Find
Retrieve it we must
The compassion that once dwelled in us
Where is it-gone, lost, forever condemned
Where is the love?

A/N: Okay, so the last sentence was well, obviously copied. But it's only a measly, weasely sentence. Surely you won't condemn me over such a small matter? Haha, I love the word (condemn, that is). It's just so...so sophisticated, you know. -uppity-classy-snobbishy! You know, it just has -my-nose-in-the-air-and-stare-at-you-like-you-are-a-
miserable-gnat feel. , I'm blabbing. I'll stop now.
