Grieving

By: Lauren

Tears falling

Softly, sinking into the pillow

Wondering why, why

Why can’t she stop crying?

Mourning, grieving

The pain never disappears

It is always there

Buried deep

Resurfacing when least expected

People always say you get over it

You learn to accept the death

But how?

How can one fill the void?

The emptiness left where you used to stand

Your warmth, your smile,

Your kind words

Never to be again

Unless conjured forth in memory

Stay with me always,

Those beautiful memories

So as I cry,

I can smile through the tears

Knowing that every moment spent with you

Was cherished and filled with love
