A/N: Sigh… I’m in a slashy one-shot mood. Review. Pretty please. If you beg, I may continue it. But I’d better see you beg.

All For the Love of You: A Slash One-Shot by yours truly

I stood by the window, looking out at the light drizzle with sadness. Taurean. My Taurean. Lightly nudging the pane of glass open with my fingertips, I closed my eyes as the ice-cold mist began to soak my face. The wind whistled eerily, a storm was brewing.

“Sage…” A strong arm wrapped around my slender waist, holding me gently. “You should be in bed.” I felt fang-tips softly brush my neck as the husky voice spoke the words.

“I’m… fine.” Was all I could manage before collapsing against his powerful body.

He swung me ever so gently into his arms, as though I might shatter into a thousand pieces at any second. He said nothing, just carried me back over to the bed that had become my entire world, setting me down on it. He walked back over to latch the window again, blocking out the sounds of the howling wind. His hand dropped down dejectedly, and he sighed before he spoke, refusing to look at me.

“I’m sorry, Sage. I know it’s hard for you.” He placed his hand flat against the windowpane, looking out over the stormy lake. You could see everything from my loft bedroom. My prison, as it is.

“Come… here… Taur.” I replied in my weak whisper of a voice. The virus had devoid me of almost everything. My freedom, my strength, my happiness, and most likely it would also claim my life soon. All it could not take was my love. My Taurean.

“I will find the cure.” He stated, returning to my bedside and stroking the lank crimson hair from my face. “I promise you that. I will not let you die.”

“Never… find…” I coughed. “It… in time.” My thin hand reached to grab his.

“Then I will die as well.” He said, still stroking my cheek with a rough thumb. I saw his beautiful brown eyes stray to the dagger at his belt. “I could not live without you.”

My hand tightened around his, holding it with all of my practically non-existent strength. “Lie… with me.” More feeble coughs. My faded blue eyes widened frantically with need.

Not taking his hand from my face, he slid into the bed next to me and pulled my frail body against his muscular one. I could feel his hot breath against my face. It comforted me. His long, wavy chestnut locks fell onto my chest. I felt my consciousness ebb.

“Fading.” I whispered hoarsely, battling to keep my eyes from shutting.

“No. Take my strength.” He bared his inch-long fangs and bit into his wrist, hard. A trickle of blood ran down his chin. He pressed the badly bleeding cut to my lips, and I was too weak to refuse the offering. Licking the strength-giving fluid from my lover’s arm, I realized how bad this was. What I had become. Suddenly I turned my face away, horrified at my actions. I had been sucking away my beloved’s life force.

“It’s alright. Take it.” He soothed, trying to push his wrist against my fangs yet again.

“Can’t.” I choked. “Not… yours.” Hot tears were burning my eyes, tears I had refused to shed for months, tears I had refused to shed since the night this all began, since the night I had become infected.

That faithful night seven months ago, I had come home after a feeding only to bring up my entire meal on the kitchen floor. Thinking I had just gorged myself and nothing more, Taurean wasn’t worried. Neither was I. We didn’t start getting worried until I passed out in the bathroom two days later, before having an attack of dry heaves and delirium. Then we knew.

I had contracted the fatal virus, K’tchak V’tnhi, ‘Reaper’s Kiss’ in the tongue of the vampires. There was a potion that could cure the disease, but it was a complicated potion involving many rare ingredients. Taurean had since been traveling the country, trying to recover the ingredients before my time ran out, but he was terrified too leave me alone too long in the big house, bedridden and unable to defend myself. Without food. He had to hunt for both of us now, and often went without himself.

The droplets threatened to overflow my eyes, and I blinked them back furiously. No good. They spilled down my cheeks, falling onto my pillow and Taurean’s hand. Surprisingly, he didn’t tell me to stop crying. He held me against his broad chest, making soft hushing noises in my ear and drawing me closer, trying to engulf me with his body. To protect me.

A wail welled up inside of me, and sobs soon shook my frail frame. All I could hear was the beating of Taur’s heart; all I could feel was his hand soothingly rubbing my back, and his breath on my ear.

I cried until I could do so no more. When my shoulders finally stopped shuddering, I raised my head from Taurean’s chest to look deep into his compassionate, understanding eyes. “I… love… you.” I whispered.

And then I slept.

A/N: PLEASE!! Review. I’m quite proud of this. I may continue it, especially if you, the almighty readers, want me to!
