Goodbye...
You never really said why...
But perhaps I never wanted to know.

Your walks along the strands of life…
Sands of broken dreams…
Cold, cold streams…

And all expressions are broken,
All words have been spoken.

Could I see your nails one last time…
See what I was clawing at;
Clawing with…
See the earth stuck beneath them; the flesh of my feelings.
Grimy.
I am disgusted with us.

Now we will disintegrate to dust.

What once was rich earth…
Will now be the barrenly broken wheels of carts on the roads of desolation.
Whipped up by the wind of the past
Disappearing as a thin misty trail on the horizon.

I guess…
…C’est la vie…
We will never be free.
