I want that clean feeling back

Intangible innocence

Even if it only lasts a second
The feeling lingers in my eyes
Like kindling to a fire
I feel renewed

I feel alive

But those feelings are so

Few and far between

I’m afraid that I’ll lose myself
Once more to everything
To nothing

Let that feeling wash over me
Just once more
Even a spark would light my world

And I can be a child once again

Hidden from the pains of the world
Deaf against Mother Earth’s screams of agony
And the sound of death around us

I just want to be able to smile without consequence

To do things just because I can
Not because I have to

I want to laugh freely
And have wonderful secrets to keep to myself

No the painful ones we all carry now

I want to be reborn

I want to be happy
