Canary Clock

Timid hands trace the shape of the universe on my back;

delicate fingers find the sun and the moon;

the canary-yellow clock on the shelf

(now dull night-time gray)

chimes perhaps once or twice to deaf ears

and for your calico cat, who doesn't care either.
