Worldly Abortion

With a weeping of tears

Gushing sable, pure offense

I am conceived, tiny, unnoticeable

Uniform belly and oh so confined.

You created me, you love me don’t you?

--

First the jade shine of all that attracts your eyes,

Next the slough of warmth, locked away

In the tips of your fingers

Tattle tale signs that this deprived innocence is here

You love me, please don’t throw me away.

--

Off to the doctor that can cure you of this infection

With words a million times too arcane

Stethoscope that sees more than the eyes can hear

Me the struggling pestilence that pleads to live

Please don’t throw away, the only being bearing this name.

--

But it’s too bad isn’t it?

The order has been placed

So now you and I are just meat

At some antiseptic restaurant

This identity is my own, please don’t erase it.

--

Doctor, Doctor, I hear his voice

Explaining this thoughtful extermination

Moving, living, growing

Distasteful organism that keeps living off of your righteousness

Don’t erase me, or the tender fiber that keeps me becoming.

--

Butcher, with his carving knife

Perfect little delicacy for him to recreate.

Mother can’t you hear me scream?

This need to be finished, to be released…

Mother please, just if you will, complete me.

--

The incision the grows larger, and world grows wider

Mother I’m curling away from the light

Away from everything but you

Please tell him no

Tell him you can feel my wrath, and this ache

--

Gloved hands, disposal, and this is the world I’ll live in

Perhaps you were trying to save me, or the people

Keep the virus out the hands of the sinful

Maybe I should be proud.

But as I am left here to take that last coo of breath

I remember the days when you clawed at your womb

Trying to rip me out

--

Why?

A/N: This is not about abortion. With that said, please remember to review.
