From where I stand I see

I see elsewhere

Where I desire to be.

The decks reverse

Into sediments

Waiting to emerge.

Their turn will come later

In a time elsewhere

One hundred-odd elsewheres later.

The church stands firmly

In the elsewhere

From a distance the Place I see.

He waits for me there

Nestled familiarly

Stays awaiting my arrival to the Square.

From where I stand I see

I see elsewhere

Where I desire to be.

Takes the cane and my hand in the other

Down the rue of elsewhere

Walk we there walk we together.

It’s practiced of course we’ve done it before

A place we share elsewhere

Heart swells by words of mon amor.

Touch of the artist, apartments aloft

Divinely elsewhere

Cloth so rare brushes so soft.

Passion painting again to passion

Eyes viewing elsewhere

Take we our time in artistic fashion.

From where I stand I see

I see elsewhere

Where I am yearning to be.
