Sorry for the long absence!!!!!! I've been working hard at school (considering I have two F's and a D :Grumbles: "Stupid Chemistry." But I've been working at Infat too. We finally have an official summary that (kind of) makes sense! Check out the Livejournal community (go to my profile for the link) for the scoop. It's on the Welcome post!
We have a new Beta ladies and gentlemen!! All thanks to Rykaine for this and the other chapters I'll be posting here soon. You might want to read it from the beginning considering I've rearranged things and added things in.
However even though we have a new Beta I'm kind of looking for someone to draw the characters, it's a lot easier if people can see what the characters look like. If you're interested post either in the comm or leave a review here and I'll send you character descriptions.
Well here's the new prologue.
PROLOGUE
King Erin of Argeth ran across the battlefield, trying to reach his general before it was too late. The man had apparently received information on the enemy from his leak. The king pushed himself, slashing through the Amazonian mages and warriors easily, dodging the odd fireball or lightning spell. The king called out over the noise trying to get his general’s attention, trying to warn him about the woman behind him. It was too late.
He screamed his fury to the sky as he saw his comrade fall, a hole burnt through his chest; the woman standing there raised her head and smiled manically at him. The other female warriors around the fallen body cried out in joy, the queen of their army letting out a victorious battle cry as she leapt towards him only to be blocked by one of his men. The King ran on, these magicians were painstakingly accurate, but maybe, if this one made a mistake...
He shot a throwing knife towards the retreating back of the woman who had taken down one of his Generals did not watch to see if it hit her. He dropped to a knee beside the fallen general and tried to see if the man was still alive. All he needed was one word. One word and all of the lives lost in this war would be worth it. Erin sighed, relieved. A pulse- that was good. He closed his eyes, trusting his men to protect him, and concentrated on that pulse. Then, picturing a green light surrounding his friend’s body, the king sent him words like health, fine, comfort. The pulse grew slightly stronger, and he stopped bleeding.
Erin felt the sweat pour down his face, his hands went numb, and his mind swam. ‘Just a little more. Just let him speak. Please, whoever’s up there, just let me last long enough to hear him speak. It’s only one word.’ He gritted his teeth, feeling blood run from his nose; he furrowed his brows at the immense headache and pushed more energy towards the fallen soldier. Blue-green eyes opened and a hand reached up to touch his king’s temple, breaking him out of the trance.
The king’s hazel eyes snapped open, and he looked down expectantly and his lips thinned. “Well?”
The man shook his blond head hesitantly, and the king closed his eyes in pain. All this magic was catching up to him.
“But... There is another way... find me.” When the king next opened his eyes, his general was gone.
