Mysterious Shapes
Note(s) On Human Behaviour: Next-door Neighbours
You've noticed him...Everyone has.
That guy that sits in the very back, dressed head to toe in black and wearing headphones. A notebook spread in front of him and brought close to his chest as if some unnamed child. His pen clutched between sweating fingers so tightly if you listen closely enough you hear the plastic creek under the pressure.
Don't lie and say you've never noticed him...there's a guy like him in every class (though sometimes it might be a 'her' who fits my description)
He's always writing yet he's never taking notes. I don't know what kind of person you would call him- a thinker? The kind of person whose thoughts over flow so much they have to write them down? A thought-provoking misfit? Maybe that would be what I should use to describe him.
I am lucky enough to have this character as a next-door neighbour in school.
I sometimes sneak a look at what he writes, his pen presses so hard against the paper it threatens to break right through the thin skin. On some of his more frustrating days his knuckles turn white from the grip he has on his pen.
I never talk to him, somewhere in my sub-conscious (and most likely his) we have agreed on never talking. We barely even register each other's presence. He takes out his notebook at the start of the day and when he isn't doing work he's writing in it. Nothing else seems to enter or remove his attention from that book.
Not that I'm jealous. I don't give him any more attention than he gives me... ...well I didn't.
At least not until the pen incident...

Yup- most the chapters will be like this, short and a little pointless. Kind of like a 'can't be assed' person's journal- but more like biology notes:P They will eventually get long as they go along though.
