This is the last Chapter of Callum’s story, but the beginning to a whole new life…

--------------------oOo------------------

“No,” Callum heard Seth whisper.

“What?” He said but he only heard a low growl emit from his throat.

Seth ran away through the smashed doorway into the icy breath still left of the night, looking behind him all the way.

What? Why did you run? Callum thought to himself. The house was wrecked, there were even more gashes on the walls and broken objects. Callum was upset to see this, the objects were his mothers.

Callum wondered why Seth had run. It seemed that Seth had run to catch the werewolves so he could try again to somehow rescue his sister. Seth had failed his mission and Callum had been the cause. He wanted to run after Seth, but his tired legs felt heavy and he didn’t feel running anywhere.

He stumbled across the room towards the bathroom, his wounded chest aching but not as much as before.

Callum looked down at his hands…and got the shock of his life…

Large…hairy and five sharp talons at the end of each finger. He looked down to his feet, they were the same and the truth hit Callum in the face like a high speed lorry.

He had been attacked, but not killed as intended. He had become one of them…

The question that lingered was-how? I had been attacked in the moon beam!

As the memories of that fatal moment were recalled, he remembered that there WAS no moonbeam. He had opened his eyes to the darkness. No moonbeam streaming overhead.

Why was there no moonbeam? He remembered that Seth had been outside…the only explanation…

The boxes…the window…Seth’s shadow!

Callum felt himself suddenly become sick, he would rather be dead. He stood shaking in front of the bathroom mirror.

This isn’t me he thought as he looked at his reflection in the mirror. He peered down at his hands; they weren’t his. There was only one place he had seen these hands…on a creature he was now too afraid to speak of. This ISN’T me he thought again. The reflection snarled back at him. It had taken control of his body and was now about to haunt his moonlit hours for the rest of his life…
