The Summoning

~unknown realm~

Christina clutched to her side in pain as she felt another powerful blast by Amy. She was just enjoying the view, when Amy ambushed her with her harpies. She was powerful enough to take out all the harpies, but she used too much energy. Then Amy attacked. It was too much for her.

Suddenly, lightning came down from the sky, striking Amy. She was too surprised to block it. Usually, she came out undamaged by elemental attacks.

Jennifer appeared in a swirl of storm clouds.

"Christina, you idiot! Regain you energy! I can't keep this up!"

Amy snarled. "You little bitch! Fire Storm!"

Jennifer stifled a gasp as the fire just managed to scratch her as she darted away. Christina got up and slowly gathered her energy.

The ex-goddess of love formed a powerful blue ball of energy in her hands. "Star Sapphire Beam!"

The beam of light hit Amy on the back, severely wounding her. Seeing that she had no way of winning, she just glared at Christina and vanished.

Jen ran to Christina. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. Just a little scratched."

"What happened? Usually you could hold out on your own against Amy."

Christina explained what happened.

Jennifer sighed. "I'm afraid that's not the only bad news you're going to get."

Christina blinked. "Huh? What's going on?"

"Kate's been having bad vibes. They're scaring her. That's why I came looking for you."

"Lets go."

~Terran Empire~

Hoshiko laughed, long silver hair falling into his emerald eyes. He patted his little sister, Dawn's, head. His mother, however, did not look so pleased.

"Dawn, where did you learn such a word?"

Dawn smiled cutely at her mother. "Hoshi-chan taught it to me."

"HOSHIKO!!!"

"Huh? I did?"

The bounty hunter found himself being thrown out of the house. Aw, man, for coming home for once, and this is what I get ne? He brushed back his hair, looking up at the stars. It was what he was named after. The stars. Heh…a big, bad bounty hunter wondering about the stars…I wonder what the guys in the tavern would think… It was true. Hoshiko had a big reputation to live up to. He was responsible for capturing ten major criminals in the past two years. And he was only 18. Well, almost 19. His hand fingered the scar on his right cheek. First catch. God, that guy had a big knife.

His eyes were averted to the moons. Almost six of them…I wonder what that means…

"Domna Daena, sit up straight."

Daena sat up a little straighter. She was forced into having tea with Mestra Delta and her older sister Estralita.

"Don't make a noise while sipping tea, Domna Daena."

She shut her mouth, secreting wishing Mestra Delta would shut hers. Out of the corner of her eye, she was observing Lita. Seventeen, Lita was the perfect princess. Creamy skin, violet hair, black eyes, and the perfect figure. No wonder she had so many suitors.

"Did you remember you napkin Domna Daena?"

"Yes," Daena muttered through clenched teeth.

"What was that?"

"Yes," she said a little louder.

"Domna Daena, milady, please, do not mutter. It's very impolite and…"

Mestra Delta launched into a full hour conversation about matters. It was all in Daena's willpower not to fling the tea in the old lady's face. She continued looking at her sister. Lita never got such speech. She never needed one. Perfect manners.

After what seemed like hours, tea time was over. Daena got up, curtsied, and left the room. To her surprise, only Mikhail was left.

"Where's…"

"His Majesty called for him, domna."

"Is it about the Cassorri Empire?"

Mikhail nodded. "Yes, domna."

This planet, Alythume, was ruled by two rivaling empires: The Terran and The Cassorri. Finally, chaos was about to be unleashed between the two kingdoms. Whichever kingdom won would name the planet over itself.

Suddenly, a old man wearing white, flowing robes appeared in front of her. She looked up surprised. No one in the kingdom dared to stand in front anyone with royal blood. The man's long, black hair and gold eyes told her the story. This was Amedeus, her father's most trusted mage. But what was he doing here?

Mage Amedeus smiled at her, bowed, and left for the king.

Hoshiko crept within the forest's darkness. The land was shaped like a perfect circle. Funny thing was that no one has ever been to the center of the land. The Terran Kingdom ruled the north while the Cassorri Kingdom ruled the South. Hoshiko himself was half and half, though he lived on Terran lands. He kept creeping silently until he reached a patch of grass and moonlight.

I n the middle stood a rock. A plain, simple rock. Hoshiko lifted it and the middle of the rock was revealed a red crystal. He looked up, through the trees. Airel's light shone directly on him. Again, he felt that shiver go up his spine. Magery was well known in this world. The crystal had the symbol of Airel on it.

~unknown realm~

Christina shook Katelyn awake.

"Damnit Kate, don't freak on me!!"

Kate slowly stirred. "The moons…they dance a deadly song…"

Tom sweatdropped. "She's flipped."

Chrissy shot him a warning glance. "One more word…"

Ever since Christina and Tom broke up, they've been on odds and ends. Tom just didn't get what Christina saw in Sinbad.

Suddenly, Kate sat up with this strange look in her eyes. "He's calling you. He's calling the crystal and the sky."

"Kate? Are you sure you had your vitamins?" Andrew inquired.

Christina glared at her brother. "Not you too."

"The crystals and the sky," Venus pondered. "The crystal would be you Chrissy, and the sky would be Jennifer…"

~Alythume~

Amedeus stared at King Nethuryn. "Please, Dom, we have to do the Summoning! The twelve moons are coming in place."

Nethuryn was so frustrated. "A Summoning will cost time. Time is what I don't have. The Cassorri Empire can attack any moment now."

"But my King, if we don't stop this, we'll all die no matter what."

Thoughts raced through the Dom's head. "How about this. Must I be present during this summoning?"

The mage looked confused. "No, but it would be best if…"

"That's it. My wife, Queen Sherrina, will be present."

The mage nodded. "I understand."

Nethuryn was about to say something else what the door creaked open. There stood Daena, face beet red.

"Chiya? What are you doing here?"

"Father…I…wish to ask a favor…"

The King blinked. Daena never sounded this nervous before.

"Ask away."

"I…I wish to go to the Summoning."

Hoshiko just stood there, enchanted by the stone. Suddenly, he was aware the moon was no longer shining on him. Puzzled, since this was where Airel usually shone, he put the stone back and looked up. The light faced towards the Palace. He quickly scaled one of the trees.

~unknown realm~

"Crystal!?!? Sky?!?!" Christina looked so frustrated. Suddenly, a strange feeling overtook her. The same thing happened to Jennifer.

Sinbad rushed over to Christina and caught her as she fell. Andrew caught Jennifer.

~Alythume~

Daena quickly glanced at Estralita. When her father agreed to her request, Lita also heard about it and demanded to come too.

Amedeus walked to the scared stone altar, some distance away from the Palace's boundaries. He closed his eyes and lifted his hand.

Hoshiko suddenly felt really strange. He had this sudden urge to run to where Airel's light was shining. And, being those follow-my-instinct kinda person, he ran.

Airel of the Ram, we call upon you

Taurusist of the Bull, we call upon you.

Gemnium of the Twins, we call upon you.

~unknown realm~

Christina felt her breath go short.

Sinbad was having some panic attack. "Damnit Christina, don't scare me like this. Not again. I can't lose you again."

~Alythume~

Hoshiko actually felt himself gain super-speed. He nearly flew to where the light was. Through the corner of his eyes, he saw Taurusist's and Gemnium's lights join Airel's.

Virgella of the Maiden, we call upon you.

Leornl of the Lion, we call upon you.

Libratha of the Scale, we call upon you.

Virgella and Leornl's lights gathered into Amedeus's hands along with Airel, Tarurist, and Gemnium. Libratha's light came out of the clouds, out of nowhere.

Hoshiko finally figured out where his mind wanted him to go. It was some sacred alter where the King's mage worked sometimes.

Cancerrest of the Crab, we call upon you.

Sagitta of the Centaur, we call upon you.

Aquarianna of the Water Bearer, we call upon you.

Hoshiko could hear chanting now.

Daena's heart pounded in her chest. She looked at Lita again. She seemed so calm. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up and saw her mother. Domna Sherrina smiled. Daena relaxed.

~unknown realm~

Christina and Jennifer fizzled like a bad TV and then disappeared. Sinbad was so shocked that he couldn't say anything.

Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned around to see Venus. The goddess shook her head, a very serious look on her face.
