My Own Betrayal

oh how the very sky taunts me
my very senses deceive me
the warm piney air surrounds me --
a cruel memory of your soft embrace
the cool breeze brushes gently 'gainst my face --
a tease of your sweet kiss on my lips
the faintly falling rain caresses my hair --
a relentless reminder of yout easy hands
oh how the very sky taunts me
my very senses deceive me
every scent wafted on the wind -- smells of you
every birds' song -- sounds of your voice
every leaf that brushes 'gainst me -- feels of your warm hand on me
oh how the very sky taunts me
my very senses deceive me
oh what i would give for you
to see you, to feel you, to smell you
one touch of your hand 'gainst mine --
one brush of your lips 'gainst mine --
one smell of yout shirt lingering 'gainst mine --
i would give the world to only see your face
a glimpse -- of you
oh how the very sky taunts me
my very senses deceive me
my very soul is betrayed.
