Muddy puddles
Rubber boots
Yellow umbrellas
Giggling at the mess
We'd jump them all
Ignore the drops
Raincoats zipped tight
Dancing and singing
We were still having fun
Springtime was for you and me

The warm sun's rays
Swimming with the fish
Building sand castles
Playing on the beach
We'd get sunburnt
But we never cared
Hot dogs and fireworks
Smiling all the time
Growing up could wait
Summer was the best time for us

Warmer sweaters
School would start again
New clothes, new friends
Things to catch up on
All too soon, I'd lost you
Recess wasn't the same
Even jumping in the leaves
Everything had changed
Autumn means "time to go"

Icicles and snow
Ice skating and sledding
Building snowmans
Warming up by the fire
Christmas wishes
And resolutions for the new year
Suddenly very cold outside
I had realized something
I had grown up
Winter made me a woman

But every now and again
I can't help it
I find myself jumping in a puddle
Swimming at the beach
Giggling for no reason
Jumping in the leaves
Or watching clouds go by
And I realize I never lost you
It's a game of hide-and-seek
And I guess I'm "it" again.
