The sun rises, the sun sets,
The flowers bloom, the birds nest;
Along the streets safe and sound
The worker mingles through the town,
And the sun rises, the sun sets.

Monotony shifts with lures and threats,
And the flowers, the flowers in mourning sweat;
The small petals, with their long arms extend
To touch the sky and make amends,
And the sun rises, the sun sets.

Great seeds are sewn; pain never forgets
How much freedom is left in debt;
The time comes, but nevermore
Returns the worker to his chore
And the sun rises, the sun sets.
