That Marietta sunset
Made everything look better than it ever had
He lit his cigarette
As a cool breeze swept through the evening air
The sun was setting slowly into the red horizon
We talked while we waited for the night
When night finally came
And the moon was high in the dark sky
Something changed
Nothing seemed right
But we knew it was right for us
And it was for that night
What I've felt for you has changed over the years
But one thing remains true
The way I felt for you that night
I'll always remember it
I never want to forget
It might be my favorite memory of us
When night finally came
And the moon was high in the dark sky
Something changed
Nothing seemed right
But we knew it was right for us
The wind felt about as restless as we were
We just hid it better
So well no one would've known how we felt
Even we didn't want to admit it to ourselves
Because admitting it made it real & the reality was this
When night finally came
And the moon was high in the dark sky
Something changed
Nothing seemed right
But we knew it was right for us
No matter how wrong they claimed it was
That night it couldn't have been more right for us
