Unbridled screams echo through the night,

As a million voices cry out in fright.

Despite how loudly they scream,

No one can hear them over their dream.

-

They have learned how to make the voices fall silent.

-

Oh such terrible shrieks of pain and fear.

As whips flick, and branders sear.

We have learned how to drown them out,

By desiring what we are without.

-

Am I the only one who can hear them?

-

Children molested nightly,

By people who hide their faces, unsightly.

Am I the only one to hear them cry?

Even after their tears have long run dry?

-

Having soaked all this in for way too long,

I release my scream; my piercing song.

-

In hopes that I might be able,

To make the others hear.
