Chapter Five: Tell Me
During our first break for the day Hazel and I ate with Nathan and Mark since Charisse was sorta out of touch. “Don’t you feel a bit hurt about being rejected by Charisse?” Hazel asked as she dug into her spaghetti and meatballs.
“Not really, she’s not so special to me.” I answered and it was the truth alright and I wasn’t hesitant to say it.
“You’re pretty brutal, aren’t you?” Gregory asked. I shook my head and said. “Not really.”
“You know, you haven’t introduced your friend to us and you haven’t introduce her to us either.” Mark pointed out.
“You haven’t exactly introduced your friends to me either.” I replied.
“So let’s have a little introduction then.” Nathan announced as we wiped off spaghetti sauce from the side of his mouth. “I’m Nathan and this is Mark.” He gestured towards Mark who nodded his head and smiled at Hazel, or so I think.
“I’m Greg.” Gregory said in the same deep voice I’d heard him speak earlier. He nudged the brown-haired guy (I really don’t know if I should say brunette, it sounds a bit feminine) next to him who was weirdly unaware that it was his turn to speak as he casually ate his spaghetti.
He gave out a little nervous laugh. “Sorry about that, I’m Andrew.”
“Andrew lives over at our street Heather. He just moved in today.” Nathan informed. As if I was a tad bit interested.
“What do you guys have next?” Greg asked. “I’ve got Bio next.”
“Me too.” Nathan announced obviously happy to know he’s got someone to bother in Mr. Lauller’s boring class.
“I’ve got Arts next. Anybody heading there?” Mark asked. I nudged Hazel, she had Arts next but for some reason she refused to tell so I did. “Hazel has Arts next.”
“Cool.” Mark said as he smiled at Hazel. “You wanna walk together?”
“Sure.” Hazel timidly answered. I smirked at her feeble ways. I was definitely sensing something and I promised myself I’d get a definite answer later.
“What have you got next, Andrew?” Hazel asked. Mark’s head shot upward, obviously surprised by Hazel’s interest in Andrew but I just took it as a casual question. Nothing to worry about. Okay, now why am I the one who’s ticked off? Hazel sensed the pressure given by her question so she added, “it’s just that you were the only one who didn’t ask.”
“I’ve got Literature next.” He answered blankly, looking directly at me. Now I was the one who didn’t want to tell and as a form of revenge, Hazel spoke out. “Really? Heather actually has Literature next.”
“You won’t mind if I walk with you, right?” he asked.
“Absolutely.” I answered trying hard to sound normal.
Obviously Gregory and Nathan sensed what was going on as I saw them exchange all-knowing looks, but I just kept myself in deep silence.
So sad for me…lol..haven’t gotten any reviews for the last two chapters. But hey, I continue anyway so ya hope I get reviews. Anyway…advanced Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays people.
