Said she always dreamed of
Heaven
with its technicolor rainbows and glitter drops of stars
Said she could almost taste the strawberry atmosphere
but she never got that far

They laughed

turned on their
black and white ideals
and painted her from head to toe in
corruption lust jealousy

little dreamer, little girl, your blues and greens they don’t exist’

and yet,
they were still surprised to find her smiling
long after she had closed her eyes…

(lost in a world so grey she slit her wrists to see some color)
