Author's Note: Make of this what you will, I don't know how to summarize it. It's something I've been working on for a while and it's very personal, so maybe I'm the only one who understands it.

You left this cell before I entered

The key was never in your hand

You knew it wasn't something you could hold

But rather, understand

Now I see you, within reach

Too far to hear you speak to me

You're trying too hard to bridge the gap

Your wordless lips are all I see

My inhibitions grow

A chain to hold me to the floor

And I find I'm searching for the key

Though I've always known there was no door

Your face is now unclear

The walls have pushed you down below

You're calling, but the chain is binding

Which is real? I never know

These prisons take on flesh

And soon the chain is rooted in my hand

I'm reaching out with one arm left

But catching only wind and sand

I wonder how you made it there

Unbound, unguarded and untame

But when I loose the chains

And walk outside then we are just the same
