She's trying hard to find the reasons why she hurts inside
Everyone seems to have a theory for the way she is
She can tell from the look in their eyes as they pass her by
But no theory is fitting
They don't know why
But how can they when not even she does
She locks herself away
She shuts out every world but her own
She tries to remember a time when she didn't feel so alone
In her secret world
She sighs & she thinks
She sits & she drinks
She tries to forget the pain
Before it drives her insane
She's too afraid to reach out
Too afraid of being hurt again
She too afraid of losing to love again
She thinks she'd rather be lonely & alone
Rather than loving & losing again
She locks herself away
She shuts out every world but her own
She tries to remember a time when she didn't feel so alone
In her secret world
She sighs & she thinks
She sits & she drinks
She tries to forget the pain
Before it drives her insane
