A Stranger to Me

Who am I deep inside?
A little boy who runs and hides?
A child that seems misunderstood?
Am I still here or gone for good?

Sometimes I don’t know what’s true.
My reflection stares at me, but who?
The troubled thoughts that fill my head
Give birth to lies that must be fed.

Searching for identity,
Held by chains, need to be free.
I can’t find who I’m to be,
I’m just a stranger to me.

In the mirror, looking back
Seeing everything I lack;
Running from mistakes I’ve made
The man in me tries to evade.

Coming out from masks I’ve used
My heart is broke, my mind abused
It’s time for me to try what’s new
Prepared for all that will ensue

Searching for identity,
Held by chains, need to be free.
I can’t find who I’m to be,
I’m just a stranger to me.

Find the man amidst the crowd
Ready to come live out loud

Searching for identity,
Held by chains, need to be free.
I can’t find who I’m to be,
I’m just a stranger to me.

Searching for identity,
Held by chains, need to be free.
I can’t find who I’m to be,
I’m just a stranger to me.

A stranger to me.
