take a rest

your world needs slowing down

you're purring like a cat

tail between your legs

shed your winter coat

for a rain jacket

the flowers won't come til May

and the rain is so delightful

splashing like a mental patient

have no care for their eyes

face upturned to the skies

the wind howls like a dog

and the moon keeps shining

the mother of all fireflies

a light in the dark that doesn't fade

not as hard to catch

sparkbugs and butterflies

who decided that dandelions are weeds

imagine all of us

living like flowers

point blank peace

sure it gets boring

but ah that sun

no worries for a sunburn

and water is life

water is fuel and fire

like a cool rain

in the middle of summer

like an ocean wave

floating over us on

past the shore and the breakers

so far out to see you can't see

such a dizzy spin cycle

do you wish you were a fish

so you could leap the waves

and be free in your prison

like a plant

like an animal

all are stuck somewhere

how are you stuck

let your destiny or force it

the difference is clear

how will you be remembered

what you choose is not to be

no one can change fate

the sands of time command us

time is an ocean
