When we stopped listening,
The song ended,
Worlds collided,
We died and came back to life,
Only to die again,
Words are sharper than knives.

When we stopped listening,
The laughter subsided,
Still we pretended to smile,
Was it worth our while?
I'd like to say I never wonder,
But I do.

When we stopped listening,
The fragment I had was lost,
But not gone,
Did that make it any better?
To have something,
But not remember?

When we stopped listening,
I'd like to think it was for the best,
Was it?
