Sunny Day
A momentous occasion
When the world just stopped
All movement ceased
All sound was cut off
And the whole tapestry of normal life stood entirely still
The sun's overwhelming rays beat down upon me
I stood there, awestruck
Shocked really
Not knowing what to do
What to say
Yet I spoke words
Sounding foreign to my ears
Sounding average to everyone else
But sounding, what, to you?
Amazing?
Comforting?
Maybe, just maybe?
One can never be sure
But time was ready to proceed
After what seemed to be hours and hours
Perhaps even a whole day
The second hand went tick
And the lives of trillions of average people
Went on
Gracefully
Victoriously
While the warmth of the sun gave me one last embrace
One that didn't quite seem to last long enough
And life went on
Until next we met
Sun and I
