I sit in my room.
You howl in the garden
terrorize the farmers sheep
leave mud on the carpet.
I go to school.
You kill the reception class’s bunny rabbit
leave it’s blood and fur lying about
piss on the roses.
I prepare dinner.
You rummage in the bins
demolish a fence post
hound a puppy in the park
I read before bedtime.
You stalk the streets for the scent of a bitch in heat
looking for a place to bury your kill
cry in victory for the moon.
I sleep in my bed.
And you. You sleep with me.
Tucked up against my side.
My spirit wolf.
