My favourite place in the world, although not outside Canada—or even past the boundaries of my bedroom—is far more enticing than any other place on Earth.

My toybox.

Oh, not just any location on the vast, unconquered regions of this great wooden “planet”; the place I’m talking about is the left-hand corner of my toybox. This space, ladies and gentlemen, is where I keep the three essentials of my life: a pencil, a notebook, and a good book.

With these tools, I can go anywhere in the world I choose, following right alongside the protagonist as they lead the way through their grand adventure.

Furthermore, whether it’s me writing it, or just enjoying what someone else has created, it’s my own private world filled with wild, exotic plants, fantastical creatures, and huge, untouched wilderness mashed together with modern technology and medieval castles. In this dimension, everything is just for me.

And that’s how I like it.
