She walked up the stairs, the smell presently growing stronger.
She stood in the doorway of her bedroom, gazing into the darkness. She stepped into the room, not bothering to turn on the lights. But she could see, see with the moonlight flooding in from the window onto her four poster bed.
In her bed, there lay a body.
The body was limp, one of her arms hanging down the side of the bed. The eyes were empty and bloodshot, staring directly at her. She walked over nonchalantly and climbed onto the edge of her bed. The body, a girl, was wearing a black formal dress and had her hair done up in some fancy twist.
The body sat up. "HELLO," the body leaned closer towards her, so close that the smell was excruciating. "IT'S NICE TO SEE YOU." The body whispered. The girl didn't say anything but stared at the blood, dripping from a scar on the body's cheek. It dripped onto the black dress.
"OH NO, I HOPE IT DOESN'T STAIN!" The body exclaimed. The girl didn't respond but meekly dipped her finger gracefully into the pool of blood slowly collecting on the dress.
"DON'T YOU CARE?" The body asked her tearfully. The body grabbed the girl's hand, smearing it with the blood. "THIS IS MY BLOOD." The body used the bloody hand and slapped the girl in the face, leaving a bright crimson handprint. The girl didn't even flinch.
The body flew at the girl in rage, grabbing her by the neck and rising to her feet, standing on the bed. "WHY DID YOU LET ME DIE?" The body held the girl even higher so that her feet were in the air. The girl was choking silently.
"YOU JUST LET ME DIE, JUST WATCHED IT HAPPEN…" Tears ran down the girl's face, tears tinted red with blood. "IT'S. ALL. YOU'RE. FAULT." And then the girl went limp.
And then there were two bodies lying on the bed.
The stairs creaked…
There were soon to be three.
