A Gentle Sigh

by fabian cortez

Oh tender kiss of

Temperate breeze

So calming

Yet so exotic

In texture

As to bring a

Quickened

Sigh

-

Shades clement

Flutter, reveal a

Secrecy of the moon

My fingertips wish

To trace, beneath your

Countenance

So faultless in

Its beauty & you

Shudder lightly,

-

Yet with an o so

Erotic urgency

Hidden within

Your drowsiness,

I lean over as to

Caress the exquisite

Burgundy of your

Mouth, with my own

You respond

In kind

-

Shadows dance a tango

Over every part of you,

Each elegant curve

So magnificent as

To shame a perfect

Rose in bloom,

But the drapes

Once more set down

To rest

-

I sense you’re desperate

Sorrow, your loneliness

How I wish I could

Patronise its peace,

Yet I know my spirit

Would pass away,

-

All that remains for me

Is to imagine still

Savouring every sweet

Breath of you,

I can but watch you

Respond in slumber

To a dream I am

Awake to

Always
